The Memories from Oblivion series most accurately identifies as epic fantasy, or genre fiction, in that one of its main goals is to tell a captivating story for readers to escape from reality. On the other hand, the series leans toward literary fiction in that it is not formulaic and with a second, more important, goal for readers to experience an emotional journey through challenging ideologies and darker truths.
